01

Choose a stable source

Action

Use a pad, poly synth, arpeggio, or noise source that already works without automation.

Why

Automation should transform a good source, not rescue a bad one.

02

Draw fewer points

Action

Create a simple curve with a start, destination, and optionally one intermediate point.

Why

Fewer points make the motion easier to understand and edit.

03

Control resonance

Action

If the filter becomes aggressive during the sweep, reduce resonance or the cutoff range.

Why

Resonant peaks can create real level jumps.

04

Listen to the curve in arrangement

Action

Play before, during, and after the transition. Adjust curve duration, not only its amount.

Why

Motion speed matters as much as filter range.

CHECKLIST

Before finishing

  • The curve uses few points.
  • Resonance does not create dangerous peaks.
  • The movement has a clear function in the arrangement.
